Shimano is pleased to announce the latest addition to its wheel line. Shimano's WH-RX830 wheelset is the perfect compliment to Shimano's R785 road hydraulic disc brakes. With wide 17C tubeless, carbon laminate rim, and Centerlock rotor mounting the WH-RX830 is optimized for miles and miles of reliable, lightweight performance.
Shimano is here with a road disc wheel that is competitively priced and offers excellent features for the enthusiast. It is disc only so there is no braking surface in the outer carbon fiber laminate shell. But there still exists an aluminum skeleton for strength and solid tubeless compatibility.
The internal rim width is wide at 17c, allowing the tire to sit better for more volume and cornering traction. And finally, the rim is a little deeper and the wheel is very stiff, following the Acceleration Concept technology of Shimano which maximizes stiffness while minimizing weight.
And finally, high quality ball bearings and races, are used on these wheels for the best durability while still providing drag-free performance. Sealed bearing and expensive ceramic types are interesting for design and axle compatibility is concerned. But for drag-free and wobble-free performance for years to come, the Shimano cup and cone bearing system fits the bill.
